Spring Term 2025-26

After the Christmas holidays we returned to snow, we had fun at forest school in the snow with our friends.

As part of our RE this term we are thinking about God. What does God look like and what does he mean to us? We talked about God and what we think he, she or it looks like and then we painted our own picture of God.

Our animal topic led to some beautiful artwork being created independently by the children.

In national storytelling week we invited any parents, carers in to share a story of their choice with the children. We had lots of volunteers and the children loved listening to new stories. Thank you to the people who came in and volunteered to tell a story.

Our animal topic also led to some lovely writing of some what am I poems - where we wrote clues and then drew a picture underneath to reveal our animal. This writing was done independently and shows what super independent skills we have using our learnt sounds and applying it to our writing.

For safer internet day we looked at the focus of AI and how we can’t always believe everything we read and see on the internet as things can be made up. We discussed how things like our tvs and Alexa speakers use AI to do jobs for us such as recommending to programmes, setting timers and playing our favourite music. We talked about the importance of keeping safe and how a trusted adult at home and school can help us

We made pancakes in school as we learned about Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday and how some people give things up for lent which is 40 days and 40 nights. We enjoyed making them as we got to eat them afterwards and choose our own toppings.

After finally getting some better weather we have been able to get back out on our cars and bikes. Not only is this fun but it is also great to help support and build our gross motor skills.

We learned about Chinese New Year and watched a special assembly with some special guests that told us all about Chinese New Year in China, we found out it was the year of the horse and we made our own dragons as dragons are a key feature of their celebrations.
